Campus Overview

Akash Engineering College is spread across a sprawling 50-acre campus that provides a comprehensive learning environment. The campus operates with 24/7 security services ensuring safety for all students and staff. Continuous power supply is maintained throughout the campus through UPS and generator facilities, ensuring uninterrupted academic and administrative operations.

Academic Facilities

Classrooms & Lecture Halls

The college features smart classrooms equipped with modern smart boards and audio-visual aids to facilitate interactive and engaging learning experiences. All classrooms are well-ventilated, creating a comfortable atmosphere conducive to effective learning. The college has two fully furnished, air-conditioned lecture theatres, each with excellent acoustics and capacity to accommodate 180 students. Additionally, a large auditorium with seating for 2000 people is available for major events and examinations.

Central Library

The Central Library is a comprehensive learning resource center designed to cater to different needs. It includes a reference library for 180 students, an outside reading area for 160 students with their own books, and a dedicated PG library for 50 postgraduate students. The teaching staff has access to a separate library for 30 members. Modern learning is supported through a digital library with 40 computer nodes, along with e-library facilities, a CD/DVD library, and an extensive journal section.

Laboratories

The college maintains modern, well-equipped laboratories for all departments, with each major lab capable of accommodating 96 students simultaneously. These specialized labs include facilities for Anatomy (Dissection hall and Histology lab), Physiology (Haematology, Clinical Physiology labs), and dedicated practical laboratories for Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, and Community Medicine. All laboratories are equipped as per MCI requirements with the latest equipment and infrastructure.

Research Facilities

Research is actively promoted through dedicated infrastructure including a Central Research Laboratory that serves all departments collaboratively. Each individual department also has its own research lab where faculty and students can conduct specialized research activities. The college also maintains an Animal House managed by the Department of Pharmacology to support experimental research.

Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry, which form the foundation of medical education.

Clinical departments

General Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology, Psychiatry, TB & Chest Diseases, Anaesthesia, Radiology, and Dentistry.

SKILL LAB

The Skill Lab at Akash Institute of Engineering and Technology has been instrumental in nurturing student competencies by effectively bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. It plays a vital role in equipping students with essential technical and professional skills, thereby enhancing their readiness for industry demands and diverse career opportunities. Through its focused training approach, the lab ensures that students are well-prepared to face global challenges with confidence and competence.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

The R&D Centre plays a pivotal role in identifying emerging research areas and fostering the development of projects that lead to publications in national and international journals also at conferences. The centre actively promotes a culture of research and innovation among faculty and students. It facilitates collaborative and interdisciplinary research across various departments under AIET, enabling exploration of advanced technologies. Additionally, the centre supports the guidance in drafting project proposals and scientific papers, ensuring quality publications. It further assists in identifying research outcomes with potential for patent filing, thereby encouraging innovation and intellectual property development.

Sports & Recreation Facilities

The college recognizes the importance of physical fitness and overall personality development through sports. A large playground is available for outdoor activities including Cricket, Football, and various Athletic events. Indoor sports enthusiasts can enjoy facilities for Table Tennis, Carom, and Chess available at the respective hostels. The campus also features a well-maintained swimming pool where students can relax and stay fit. A fully equipped gymnasium is accessible to both students and staff for regular fitness activities.

Additional Facilities

The college maintains an excellent transportation network with safe and convenient bus services connecting various parts of the city to the campus, ensuring smooth commuting for students and staff. Banking convenience is ensured through an ATM facility from Canara Bank functioning within the campus.
